Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

Merry Christmas! On this auspicious occasion of Christmas, let us reflect on the universal teachings of love, compassion, and selfless service that connect all spiritual traditions.

Lord Jesus Christ was a great personality—the Son of God, spiritual master and a true representative of God. The Srimad Bhagavatam teaches that any bona fide preacher of God consciousness must possess the qualities of titiksha (tolerance), karunya (compassion), and pure devotion to God.

In the life and character of Lord Jesus Christ, we see all these qualities exemplified. Even as he was being crucified, he demonstrated unwavering tolerance. He chose to endure such suffering just to alleviate the sufferings of others. Instead of condemning those who wronged him, his great degree of compassion led him to pray to God for their forgiveness. Through his actions and his teachings, he taught the essence of selfless service and devotion to God.

The teachings of Lord Jesus Christ were tailored to his particular time, place, country and people he was addressing, he is certainly a true representative of God. Therefore, we revere Lord Jesus Christ and offer our humble obeisances to him!

Just as Lord Jesus Christ devoted his life to sharing God’s message, let us also endeavor to strengthen our devotion to Sri Krishna, live by Krishna’s teachings, and inspire others by sharing His teachings with everyone.

On this auspicious day, may the blessings of Lord Sri Krishna and the guru-parampara guide us all on our path to pure bhakti and fill our hearts with “Krishna-Prema”, the pure love of God.

Your servant,
Satya Sara das
